These socks were designed for toe-up construction, 2 at a time using one long needle. This is my preferred method to ensure my socks are the same length and fit. Of course, you can knit these socks, one at a time, using 4 dpns if you prefer. You do need to already know how to wrap and turn for short-row shaping.
