I designed this shawl after a challenge from Sofia from Companhia das Agulhas to step out of my comfort zone and create a pattern using a cotton linen blend.

The result is Coimbra Shawl, inspired by has the homonymous Portuguese city. Coimbra is a beautiful riverfront town and the country’s former capital. It is known for many reasons, we would like to highlight its enchanting gardens and beautiful university.

The Coimbra shawl is triangular, worked sideways from the right tip to the left edge. It was designed to use the amazingly soft yarn Somen, by Hoooked, a cotton and linen blend, perfect for autumn days.
