Col Sans Souci
January 2014
Taking a page from my sock pattern, Chaussettes Sans Souci, this cowl is rather like a giant, cozy sock leg for your neck. Yarn weight and cowl size are very flexible. Gauge is not critical.
Materials
The sample pictured on the pages of the pattern is made with sport weight yarn and a US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needle, 16” long. It required less than 200 yards of yarn ~ a small skein project for something special. I used Piegon Roof Studios Superwash Merino Sport in a smashing colorway, Reformer Bruise.
Size Information
Cowl diameter and depth can be adjusted according to your own personal preference by casting on any multiple of 4 sts, working as many repeats of the chart as desired, and using any yarn weight and needle size to make you happy. This stitch pattern nicely shows off unique handpainted yarns, especially skeins that sparkle with short bursts of color.
