This winter hat, with its little wooden buttons, is trendy and modern with just enough of that backwoods flair to get you wanting to sit around a campfire and roast marshmallows. Talking and laughing, the flames of the fire die down to embers as you enjoy good food and good company. This hat is a must have for a frigid day outdoors and is the perfect stylish accessory for any cold weather wardrobe. This pattern is a perfect first project for knitting in the round using very basic stitches and techniques.

A Decade of Patterns - The Canon Years

The Cold Embers Winter Hat was originally designed in 2017 under a different name. It was the second hat I’d ever created and one of the first times I’d knit in the round. I got the inspiration for this project from a pin I found on Pinterest of a little girl wearing a hat with buttons down the one side. From that moment on I became obsessed with buttons and knew I needed to design something using them. Originally I created this hat specifically for babies and toddlers but have since added a wider size and age range.
