Inspired by metal’s property as a powerful heat conductor, the Cold Metal Mitts are worked from the bottom up beginning with a garter stitch cuff. The body of the mitts is worked in two-color brioche. The thumb gusset is created with basic brioche increases and the live thumb stitches put on hold to be worked when the body is finished. Upon finishing the body with a garter cuff, the thumb stitches are then picked up and finished with DPNs.
