Cold Snap Cowl
The Cold Snap Cowl is a two-color stranded colorwork cowl that uses any two highly contrasting colors of DK weight yarn. The sample is shown in Malabrigo Dos Tierras, but any DK weight will do. The best part about it is that there are no long floats that you have to fiddle with catching! The pattern is a repeat of 12 stitches across the round, so it will be easy to get in a rhythmic groove with your knitting.
This pattern is both charted and written for ease of access. The ribbing is done a bit differently than typical ribbing just to give the cowl a different look. Feel free to do a simple (k1,p1) ribbing if your prefer.
This pattern is also easy adjustable by simply adding or removing stitches per round by multiples of 12. You may also choose to do more or less repeats of the chart for a shorter or longer cowl. There is no wrong way to knit and enjoy your Cold Snap Cowl!
Techniques Required:
-Knitting with circular needles in the round
-Twisted ribbing (k1tbl, p1) alternately, you can simply use a
(k1,p1) ribbing
-Stranded Colorwork—I highly recommend a two-handed
method!
-Binding off in pattern

-MC (Sunset) –Approximately 1 full skein or app. 210 yards/100
grams
-CC (Reflecting Pool) – Approximately 122 yards/58 grams
