Collafirth Beanie
Collafirth Hill in Northmavine is one of our favourite walks here in Shetland. It is only 233m above sea-level but on a clear day you can see for miles and miles in every direction.
The landscape is strewn with red granite boulders making it a striking place to see.
At the summit are remains of a small NATO communications centre which closed in the late 1980s. There is also a television transmitter and communications mast which I’ve used as the inspiration for this beanie design.
