Collared Petal Cape
I originally designed this as a cape for bridal wear, with the image of it being very useful in the spring and fall to keep a chill off the shoulders. However, it has also worked out to be a wonderful everyday outerwear piece to fill in the gap when a full jacket isn’t needed. Knit out of the super bulky Malabrigo Rasta, this piece is a fast knit that will satisfy the “I want a new knitwear garment now” urge.
This cape is knit flat, and is one-size fits most, with the finished measurements being 54” (137.2cm) around. It is shaped like a raglan sweater so that it sits easily on your shoulders. The petals and collar are shaped with short rows, and this project uses a special bind off to ensure the bind off edge allows the curved edge.
