Collegiate Scarf
by Vicki Twigg
This scarf is a very good introduction to Twigg stitch. It’s worked with three colors of yarns that switch position between Twigg-knit and Twigg-purl stitches. On one face, twenty-row stripes of green alternate with two-row stripes of yellow or purple; on the other face, each twentyrow stripe of yellow or purple is split in the middle by a two-row stripe of green. The look of the single-color ribbed-cable cast-on at one end is matched by Vicki’s single-color ribbed-chain bind-off at the
other. The first two stitches of every row are slipped for tidy selvedges. Use the colors shown here or make substitutions for a scarf that’s uniquely yours.
