Made in squishy, soft Forge, this hat is worked in five of our classic H+W colorways. It’s perfect for any H+W bits leftover from other projects or the best excuse to play with our colors for your own version!

Finished Size
1 (2, 3); 17.25 (18.25, 20.5)” / 44 (46.5, 52) cm finished circumference (unstretched), height 9.5” / 24 cm for single-brim version, 12” / 30.5 cm for double-brim version with brim unfolded.

Yarn
Hudson + West Co. Forge (70% U.S. Merino / 30% U.S. Corriedale; 235 yds 220 m; 3.5 oz. / 100 g): Five-color version: midnight (navy) – color A, fawn (natural oatmeal) – color B, charcoal (natural dark grey) – color C, barn red (dark red) – color D, red feather (burnt orange) – color E; 1 skein each. For two-color option, 1 skein in each of two contrasting colors of Forge.

Needles
Size A (for hat body): US 7 / 4.5 mm: 16” / 40 cm circular needle, long circular needle for magic loop, or set of DPNs, per knitter preference.
Size B (for ribbing): US 5 / 3.5 mm: 16” / 40 cm circular needle, long circular needle for magic loop, or set of DPNs, per knitter preference.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions
Stitch markers or locking stitch markers; waste yarn (optional) for tubular cast on; tapestry needle.

Gauge
21 sts and 28 rounds = 4” / 10 cm in stranded colorwork patt as charted on Size A needles.
