Notes from the Designer:
A collocation is an arrangement of words, ideas, or even images that brings out their meaning. This blanket features five rows of blocks with each row containing a pair of alternating blocks. The pairings showcase blocks that are similar in pattern, but one is more elaborate than the other to give a nice contrast, like seeing a pretty, red cardinal on an otherwise dreary, grey, winter morning. Sometimes life is like this. You have your workaday hat to don, and then you come home and have other hats to wear. But somehow they all seem to work together. Even on days when things seem dull or mundane, you can still find something lovely in life or in nature that brings a smile to your face. The stitch patterns are based on 200 Crochet Blocks by Jan Eaton. I hope this blanket helps you find joy and beauty in the small things in life and keeps you warm wherever you go.

- The sample shown used approximately 1542 yds/1410 m total: Color A: 261 yds/239 m, Color B: 240 yds/219 m, Color C: 219 yds/200 m, Color D: 270 yds/247 m, Color E: 264 yds/241 m, and Color F: 288 yds/263 m.
- The blanket is made by working the individual squares and then adding a border, which will be used to join them together into the final piece. If you wish to make a larger blanket, you can either work more squares or use a heavier weight yarn with corresponding hook.
- There is a schematic on page 12 for your reference. This will also help you keep track of where you are in the square as you’re going along.
