When ever I think of Colm a song plays in my head , the song is Imagine because Colm really believes the world can be that good. He has more faith in humanity than most people I know. He truly believes in the goodness of people.He sees beauty in things most people would never see. He believes conflict can be solved by talking it out, that there is no such thing as a bad child but bad influences. He is calm, peaceful, and at ease. Then we go to a rugby match and this quiet gentle man turn into a screaming yelling fan, argues about calls and laughs when we score. He used to hurl professionally and when his son played a jr game at Croke Park when he was 8 , there was no one in the stands that did not feel, hear or see his pride. For me he is the eejit who even after a long surgery himself will scrub into my OR and assist. He is also the one
who can bring me to tears with his tenderness.
