Colonist 1806 represents the women of the first British colonies in America. Her bodice features adjustable sleeves which can be worn on the arms or loose depending on the weather. She wears a practical hat to shield her face from the sun, and a modest coif over her hair, as well as her best collar and cuffs over her shift. Her striped apron protects her skirt and is ready to help with her busy day of chores. At her waist, she wears a pocket to hold any small items she might need at hand. Sturdy boots and stockings complete her outfit.

Colonist 1608 is knit on size 6 needles with occasional help from a size E crochet hook. She uses about a skein of Lion Brand Heartland in Olympic and Bryce Canyon, with smaller amounts of Sequoia, Joshua Tree, Woolease Natural Heather, and Bernat Baby Ultrafine in White. The construction of each piece is largely seamless. The bodice’s button closure and open front shirt allow you favorite young colonist to dress and undress the doll.
