The Ilex Color Block Mittens combine a clever diagonal detail with fingering weight fiber to make a sophisticated and sumptuous mitten.

The design is achieved using intarsia in the round in a way that is friendly to intermediate knitters who might be new to intarsia. Knit cuff to fingertip, the mitten works beautifully with both highly contrasting colors as well as chromatic shifts.

This project is also a wonderful stash-buster! Size M uses about 100 yards for the main and 70 yards for the contrast color.
