Color Me Obsessed Beanie is an adult sized, stranded colorwork pattern. The name was chosen because I have been obsessed with creating different color combinations for it. And, because I’ve included blank colorwork charts for you to print off and color in yourself! You can bring to life all of your own colorwork obsessions for this pattern! For ease of use, the pattern includes both written and charted instructions with notes on how to use the charts, and charts you can color in.

Skill Level: Intermediate
Knitting in the round, decreasing in the round, and stranded colorwork, and jogless join skills are required.

Yarn
Malabrigo Rasta (100% superwash Merino wool; 98 yds/150 g):
Main Color (brim and crown color): 30 yds/45 g (15 yds/22.5 g for each brim and crown to work
them in two different colors).
There is one 2-stitch tall section (middle of pattern) that takes 6 yds/9g.
Each 3-stitch tall color section takes 9 yds/13 g.
There are four 3-stitch tall sections to this pattern. If using four different colors, have 9 yds/13 g per color. To use three different colors, have 9 yds/13 g color a, 18 yds/26 g color b,
9 yds/13 g color c.
If using two different colors, have 18 yds/26 g color a, 18 yds/26 g color b.
To help keep colors straight, or to plan a color palette, use the
color charts beginning on page 6.

Needles and Notions: US 11/8.0 mm 16”/40 cm circular needles for brim and US 13/9.0 mm 16”/40 cm circular needles and/or DPNs for crown decreases.

Notions: Beginning of round stitch marker, scissors, tape measure, crochet hook or large eye tapestry needle for weaving in ends, optional pom pom.

Gauge: 10 sts x 13 rows = 4” x 4”/10 cm x 10 cm with US 11/8.0 mm needles in stockinette.

Sizing: to fit head sized 20” to 22” in circumference, or adult size medium. Beanie has approximately
4”/10 cm of negative ease.
Finished size: 8.75”/22 cm wide by 9”/23 cm tall, measured flat.

Notes: the pattern is written for a two color beanie. There are cues in the pattern for color changes, and making jogless joins. While this is not a stripe pattern, per se, the pattern will look “off,” at the round transitions without using a jogless join method for swapping colors. There is a recommended method at the beginning of the instructions. The places to work those joins are noted. It is highly recommended to follow along the written instructions with a color chart, even if you cannot read charts well, to help keep track of multiple color changes. I hope you’ll even use the blank charts to plan your own color palette!
