Colorado Winter Cowl
Our buskins on our feet we drew;
With mittened hands, and caps drawn low,
To guard our necks and ears from snow,
We cut the solid whiteness through.
― Excerpt from “Snow-Bound: A Winder Idyl” by John Greenleaf Whittier
A cowl celebrating Colorado’s coldest season. Upon your visit you will see animal tracks in the snow, beautiful pine forests and have a chance to play winter activities! Also, there will be snow. Did I mention snow?
There is a pattern for a coordinating pair of fingerless mitts knit using DK yarn!
Yes, there are a few cables. BUT-- this is a great pattern if you’re new to cables and ready to jump into the snowpile. There is repetition in the pattern to help you gain confidence. You may find the video links to be useful as well.
Please join the discussion group and share your yarn and progress.
NOTES
- Fingering Weight and DK version are included with your purchase
- The pattern calls for 3 colors. These names are referenced in each pdf pattern.
- Colors are also noted as CC1, CC2 and CC3 so you may choose any 3 shades. This cowl uses less than one skein, so why not knit in a single colorway? or a gradient?
- Variegated yarn is not recommended for the tree section.
- Add beads in the forest to make Christmas trees!
