Colorfall is a mitered square shawl worked from the first square and adding as many squares as you want. Use all your leftover yarn or choose a new palette of colors. The only real “rule” is to use the same weight yarn throughout, but that weight can be your choice. Designed in stockinette stitch to keep the luscious colors from muddying, this unique shawl really lets this beautiful yarn sing. Choose colorful pops of color, soft serene neutrals or anything in between. The original Colorfall was knit using Koigu KPPPM for a lightweight three seasons shawl. Let your imagination run wild!

Materials

200 grams (about 700-800 yards) of a fingering weight yarn - includes your border color if you want (this is for the original design, if you want scrap yarn of any weight you can)

US 3 circular needle (32 inch will be enough to work the top row, but I used a 24 for the majority of the shawl)

4.0mm crochet hook (the sides of the shawl have two rows of single crochet added to tidy up the edges but this step is optional and can be replaced with a picked up garter stitch edge).

There is a “Tips & Tricks” section included in the pattern and also a color chart for the layout of the squares.

Gauge is not crucial in the pattern.

Original Shawl measures 51” across the top and 25” down the center.
