Colorful Metamorphosis is an ode to caterpillars and their amazing transformations. I think they are fascinating funny looking insects and probably that’s why they often appear in children’s books. Remember the one in “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” or the “Very Hungry Caterpillar”?
There is something amazing about these tiny beings, from the way they move to the whole process of metamorphosis and the marvellous butterfly they become then. Just the idea of becoming something completely different from the being you were born into is simply breathtaking.
If people could be able to change just a fraction of what a caterpillar does in its short lifespan maybe we would live in a better society.
I only hope that wearing this colorful hat will bring you a wonderful “mind metamorphosis”. That you’ll be reaching for that secret dream you have, knowing that it is possible if you want to. Or maybe creating those good habits day by day and finally getting to your goals.
I would like Colorful Metamorphosis to be a symbol of change and transformation.

Size guide
XS (S, M, L, XL) correspond to head circumference as shown below:
XS 52 cm
S 54 cm
M 56 cm
L 58cm
XL 60cm

If you need room to accomodate hair without being too tight, measure your circumference accordingly sizing up as you need.

Gauge
17 sts x 22 rows on = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 inches in stockinette stitch on bigger needles with 1 strands of yarn after blocking

Needles
Circular needles: 4 mm (US 6) and 5 mm (US 8) - 40 cm (16 inches) and 60cm (24 inches) depending on the size.
5mm (US 8) double pointed needles for the crown
Note: Needle size is just a suggestion. Use any needle size you need to meet gauge and drop down two needle sizes for the band.

Materials
Colorful Metamorphosis has been designed in two contrasting colors of Drops Nepal (50 g = 75 m - 1.8 oz = 82 m).
Yarn substitutions Any heavy aran plied yarn with approx weight /meter ratio of 50 g / 75m (1.8 oz/ 82 m) best if with some torque. Works well with merino superwashed.

Colorful Metamorphosis può considerarsi un’ode ai bruchi e alla loro meravigliosa capacità di trasformazione. Trovo che siano davvero degli insetti simpatici e forse per questo spesso animano i libri per bambini. Ricordate il Brucaliffo de “Le Avventure di Alice nel Paese delle meraviglie” o il “piccolo Bruco Maisazio”?
C’è qualcosa di magico in questi piccoli esseri, a partire da come si muovono fino al processo di metamorfosi e al loro incredibile cambiamento. Solo l’idea di trasformarsi in qualcosa di completamente diverso da quello che siamo è sicuramente qualcosa di affascinante. Se noi tutti riuscissimo a cambiare anche sono una piccola frazione di quello che fa il bruco forse vivremmo in una civiltà migliore.
La mia speranza per tutti coloro che creeranno questo cappello è che possa portare loro una meravigliosa “metamorfosi in testa”. Che vi faccia realizzare che quel sogno che sta lì nel cassetto da sempre è raggiungibile se lo volete davvero… e poi, chissà, tutto diverrà possibile

Guida alle taglie

Se avete bisogno di più spazio per i capelli tenete in considerazione la misura della testa con l’agio che desiderate per il vostri capelli e scegliete una misura più grande.

Tensione
17 m x 22 f = 10 x 10 cm in maglia rasata sui ferri più grandi con un capo di filato dopo aver lavato e bloccato il campione

Needles
Ferri circolari: 4 mm e 5 mm da 40 cm e 60 cm a seconda della misura
Ferri a doppia punta 5 mm
Note: La misura dei ferri è indicativa. Usare i ferri adatti ad ottenere la tensione indicata e scegliere due misure più piccola il ferro di calibro inferiore

Materiale
Colorful Metamorphosis è lavorato con Drops Nepal (50 g= 75 m) in due colori contrastanti
Colore Principale (CP): 80-90 gr - Colore di contrasto (CC) : 40 gr
E’ possibile sostituire questo filato con un altro filato Aran che dia la stessa tensione ed abbia approssimativamente lo stesso metraggio. Meglio se ha una buona torsione.
