One of the first projects I did when I was learning to crochet was an owl purse for my then 3-year-old niece and I remember how proud I felt to have made it myself and how much my niece loved it! She took it everywhere. Then, 2 years later, the little owl purse inexplicably lost an eye (kids, right?) The funny thing is that she still continued to take her one-eyed owl purse anywhere she went, so my sister asked me to please fix it for her. I decided instead that it was time to make my now 5-year-old niece a new, size-appropriate revamped owl purse.
