Or use contrasting colors, and watch as they shift into a textured gradient. Note: While precise gauge is often unimportant in accessories, this shawl was designed with a specific yarn quantity in mind. If your gauge is too loose, or if you leave very long tails to weave in, I can’t guarantee that you will be able to get all of the necessary rows from your tails. If you don’t want the stress of playing yarn “chicken”, I might suggest alternating one self-striping yarn with a solid color.
