To fit head circumference 18 (20, 22)“
Samples shown are the following sizes:
Gray - 20” and Red - 22”

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Circumference - 15 (16.5, 18)“ (after blocking and relaxed)
Length - all sizes - 10.5” (8.5” with folded brim)

The finished hat has good amount of stretch and will easily allow for up to 5 – 6 inches of positive ease. A person with 22” head could wear the medium size with a snugger fit or the large size with a more relaxed fit.

YARN

Samples knit with Handmaiden Fine Yarn Casbah – Heavy Fingering - 80% merino, 10% Nylon, 10% Cashmere goat,
355 yards/115 grams - 2 contrasting colors

GAUGE

36 stitches and 32 rows / 4 inches (10 cm) in ribbing pattern / US size 4 (3.50 mm) needle

Different yarns will gauge differently and may affect the overall size of the hat. If you are using a yarn other than what is suggested in the pattern, it is recommended to knit a swatch to ensure your hat will fit correctly.
