Colour Mediation Shawl is an asymmetrical shallow long shawl that uses garter stitch and short rows for a perfectly draping shawl that’s long enough to wrap around you. It uses 3x50g sock yarn but can be extended to use 3 x100g skeins. To make it nice and easy only one colour at a time is used, with the other colours being carried down the side of the shawl (minimal ends I hear you all sigh in relief!).

Colour mediation is designed to use up those skeins of yarn in your stash your holding onto- choose colours that compliment or contrast. Its advisable to use at least one semi solid so you don’t loose the yarns in amongst each other- perhaps choosing one yarn you’d like to stand out the most.

This shawl is suitable for those ready to move on from one skein projects- nothing is complicated about how its knitted- it can just get a little tricky using three balls of yarn!

I don’t feel gauge is particularly important for this shawl. Use needle size to get a fabric your happy with- as your knitting just keep an eye on your remaining shawl- you can always finish the pattern without the last repeat if needed! The great thing about this pattern is you can stop when its big enough- just be sure to follow the colour order when doing the edging if you stop the main pattern earl.
