Columbia
Columbia ~ a unisex jacket/cardigan suitable for the transitional season, along with an introduction to simple color changes forming the stripe pattern for added interest and creativity.
Featured in volume two of Kalendar Kidz Publication (published October 2015)

Pair with your favorite hat for a finishing touch to this versatile wardrobe essential (Cap not included in pattern)
Construction:
Worked flat; back and forth in rows. From bottom welt up in one piece to armholes, then each section worked separately, including front lapels with collar worked from picked up stitches. Set in long sleeves each worked the same from cuff welt to sleeve cap shaping, sewn into place then seamed
Pattern Features:
Simple color changes form the stripe pattern with line-by-line written instructions given throughout including buttonhole placement and the option to work in one color to measurement
Skill Level: Beginner - Easy
Project uses basic stitches, simple color changes and minimal shaping and finishing
Materials:
120 – 130 yards (50 grams) Light Worsted # 3 weight or Sport 5ply weight including scraps for color stripe work
Yarn Equivalent: 8ply UK, NZ, AU
Gauge:
Using 3.25mm needles: 6 sts and 8 rows in 1 inch over stockinette stitch based on * materials used
Gauge is average and subject to yarn choices and individual tension; Gauge achieved using stated needles and yarn recommendations, adjust needle size accordingly: Too many stitches, your tension is tight, change to a larger needle size, too few stitches, your tension is loose, change to a smaller needle size
* Materials Used: Alpaca Sport weight by Frog Tree and Sport weight mill ends

4 Buttons size ½” (12mm), Darning Needle, 1 Stitch Holder

For a finishing touch I added both my Newsboy Cap and Lace Newsboy Cap (without peak) using lighter weight yarn to match jackets (caps are not included in this pattern publication)
