Columnar Jointing Cowl
The Columnar Jointing cowl is a companion knit to the Columnar Jointing Hat! The .PDF pattern is currently written for one size, which is about 12”/30cm tall and 27”/68 in circumference, and fits as a neckwarmer.
The Columnar Jointing cowl is knit from bulky/aran weight yarn as shown, but could also be made from a worsted weight yarn knit at the listed gauge, especially if you’d like to knit a cowl to match a Columnar Jointing hat.
Gauge.
Gauge is 16 sts and 18 rows over 4”/10cm of lightly blocked knit-purl rib. If you’re throwing caution and gauge to the wind, it’s better to err on the side of a gauge that’s too large instead of a gauge that’s smaller; a smaller cowl might not be very wearable.
Materials.
About 230 yards, or one skein, of Lion Brand Scarfie
1 24” circular needle in US7-8/4.5-5.0mm, or size needed for gauge
2 DPNs in the same size as above (optional; these make the i-cord bindoff easier by eliminating a need to slip stitches back onto the lefthand circular needle).
Tapestry needle
