Columns Socks
When the Greeks built the Parthenon, it was a wonder to behold with columns holding up the portico in classic architecture of the temple to the goddess Athena. In Roman architecture, columns are also used in temples or important buildings to denote higher status. These examples of Doric columns of different widths and heights, along with the spaces between, make a very pleasing structure to the eye.
This multiple sized toe-up sock pattern is completely reversible for a cuff down version. The simple textural pattern is easy to change for a different size. The main stitches in this pattern are knits and purls! I have used a gusset and heel flap but you can substitute your favourite heel. The Fish Lips Kiss heel is another favourite that I use.
Sizes are small - 56 sts, medium - 64 sts, and large - 72 sts. The pattern is best suited to the following types of sock yarn - solid, semi solid, tonal. Any patterning or stripe or variegation in the yarn will loose the pattern.
