It’s a cape, it’s a poncho, it’s a shawl…it’s something!

This capelet/poncho is perfect for the times when you need a little something over your shoulders, but don’t want to have to fiddle with a shawl pin.

The contrasting eyelet sections in the semi-circular shape make it ‘web like’ - fun even for the arachnophobic! Knit from the top down the finished length can be easily adjusted. You can also add as few as one button to close or as many as your like as the eyelet edging forms lines of buttonholes.

This project uses just three skeins of Chunky Scrumptious Solid yarn. It is a is a quick knit on size 11 (8 mm) needles with simple knit, purl, yos and increases. There’s a garter stitch collar and two buttons to hold it closed. Uses 2 skeins of the main color yarn and 1 of the contrast color. Perfect for gifts!
