Over the years, I have given many friends handknit hats when they were having a rough time. My “rainy day” hats have assumed many styles, bringing a little extra love to those I love, and with the intention of letting my friends know I am there for them, come rain or shine! This Art Deco, Helmet Style Cloche hat features twisted stitch “umbrellas”, and Nupp raindrops which cascade down from the top umbrella. Great for all season wear, and a very quick knit-- make one for a loved one in need of some cheer, or to congratulate them on a job well done!

The models shown here are two of my ballet students, who have been best friends since they were very small, and have weathered many storms together. A special thanks to Kiersten and Jules for being the perfect models for this design :)

Skill Level: Experienced. Must already be able to knit in the round and use DPN’s, as well as work standard decs.
