The Comfort & Joy Toque is a warm winter stranded colourwork hat with a folded brim and two rounds of bobbles for additional nubbly texture. Knit in red, white, and green, the bobbles resemble holly berries perfect for Christmas, but the hat easily adapts to be a season-long staple in other colours.

TECHNIQUES/SKILLS

• knitting in the round
• making knit and purl stitches
• increasing and decreasing stitches
• knitting with up to three colours per round on four rounds total
• creating bobbles (links to three video tutorials are included)

NEEDLES & NOTIONS

• 1 US 6/4mm 16”/40cm circular needle, or size necessary to obtain gauge
• 1 US 7/4.5mm 16”/40cm circular needle, or size necessary to obtain gauge
• 1 set of US 7/4.5mm double pointed needles, or size necessary to obtain gauge
• stitch markers
• tapestry needle for weaving in ends

GAUGE
Measured in blocked, washed knitting.
