Comfort Glow Lapghan Blanket
This pattern is available in both UK or US terms.
I called this ’Comfort Glow’ because of how the orange appears against the other colours and it’s a cosy little lapghan blanket! This blanket is made with 20 squares which are 23x23cm (9x9in) using a 4mm hook and a DK yarn.
The pattern would suit any DK but I made mine in acrylic Stylecraft Special DK. My goal was to use crochet stitches that give both a subtle pattern effect and also a striking texture, such as the spike front post trebles.
I have given a finished size 102x125cm (40x49in) but size is not critical because you can add more squares for a bigger blanket.
The colours I’ve picked create tonal and contrasting effects. My advice when picking your colours is that colours A & B have a good contrast and C & D are closer in hue. This way, you’ll get a similar visual result to my version.
Skill Level: Intermediate level of skill is needed as a knowledge of special stitches (written instructions are given for these) is required however, an advanced beginner could make this too.
There are detailed written instructions with some photo tutorials plus a video link for joining the squares when you come to the horizontal.
This pattern has been tech edited by Karen Hubbard.
