This pattern suggests using the sizing of the end user or using measurements gleaned from online sizing charts. Gauge is suggested. In this case it is good to determine one’s own gauge and do the math.

This can be adjusted to fit any end user. Yarn suggested is a worsted weight, but other weights could work, with adjustments to hook size, gauge, and stitch count. Solid or variegated is suggested. Self-striping yarns might be too difficult to manage in this application.

This will produce a thick fabric and a very warm and quite impressive sweater.
