This is an upgraded version of my Crochet Basic Socks Pattern, adjusted to a 4-ply yarn. This basic socks tutorial includes an almost 2 hours video, where I show you, how to crochet a complete sock with a thorough description, stitch by stitch and row by row.
Crochet Comfy Basic Socks: perfect fit and cozy socks. Wool? Color? Size? … It’s up to you.
Skill level: Advanced beginner.
Techniques used: Slip stitch, yarn over slip stitch, increases and decreases, short rows.
PDF Format: Easy-to-download digital file, printable in both A4 and Letter sizes.
YARN
For sizes: XS - 2XL
Regia - Schachenmayr, 4-ply, “1 Superfine”, mix of: 75% wool and 25% nylon, Superwash; 3,5 oz/100 gr. = 459 yds/420 m;
QUANTITY for sizes: XS – 2,3 oz/ 65 gr => XXL - 3,5 oz / 100 gr.
-or any yarn with similar characteristics: Light fingering, 4-ply yarn for socks, recommended hook on the label 2-3 mm.
*** It is best to use a mix of natural wool with a part of synthetic fiber or any mix that retains the shape of the elastic stitch well.
