Many times, as I put on my knitted socks in the morning, I’ve thought to myself, “gosh one of these would make an awesome dog hat--if only I made a few adjustments!” I became curious, and finally put my theory to the test. With a few adaptations, the sock base turned into a beautiful dog hat! This hat design fits like a dream on my little Jezebel, (she is a mini dachshund) and the hat knits up just like a standard sock normally would--only you don’t ever have to make the second sock--haha!

Comfortable and formfitting, it stays on well without feeling tight on the dog. The hat is worked in a rib stitch, and for this reason it naturally retains elasticity. This adorable dog hat is knitted in the round on double pointed needles, and is a seamless design. The top is adorned with a pair of cute little pom-poms for a splash of stylish pizazz! The pattern comes with illustrative photos and written step by step instructions on how to make the pom-poms.
