The Commute is a versatile, textured Cowl for city life. Wrap it around your neck twice, to be cosy and warm when outside. The moment you enter a building or transport, just undo one turn and drape it loosely around your neck, like a piece of statement jewellery. No more getting too hot on the underground, or having to stuff your cowl into your already overflowing bag (and taking it back out again after a few minutes).

Construction:

The cowl is worked in the round and then bound off and blocked. The long cast-on and bind-off edges are then seamed together, but offset by a number of stitches. This causes the fabric to twist around the loop, creating an interesting helical bias.

• 2 skeins Merino Worsted by Riverstone Yarns (100g / 3.75oz, 192m / 210yds, 100% merino wool) OR approximately 400 m / 450 yds of worsted weight yarn
• 5mm / US 8 circular needle (100 cm / 40 inch), or size to obtain gauge

“Commute” ist ein vielseitiger Endlos-Schal, mit einer strukturierten Oberfläche. Wickel ihn zweimal um den Hals, um es draussen kuschelig warm zu haben. Oder trage ihn locker um den Hals, als Statement-Piece.

Aufbau:

Der Endlos-Schal wird in der Runde gearbeitet und dann abgekettet und gewaschen. Die beiden Kanten werden versetz zusammengenäht, was dazu führt, dass sich das Strickstück um sich selbst windet. Es entsteh ein interessantes Spiralmuster.

“Commute” est une écharpe tube polyvalente et texturée, idéale pour la vie en ville. Enroulez-la deux fois autour du cou pour être bien au chaud à l’extérieur. Dès que vous entrez dans un bâtiment ou dans les transports, défaites un tour et portez-la comme un collier. Plus besoin de mourir de chaud dans le métro ou de devoir ranger une chose de plus dans votre sac déjà plein à craquer (surtout si c’est pour la ressortir quelques minutes plus tard).

A noter:

L’écharpe tube est tricotée en rond, puis elle est fermée et bloquée. Les deux bords sont ensuite cousus ensemble, mais décalés d’un certain nombre de mailles. C’est ce décalage qui entraîne la torsion du tissu, créant ainsi un biais hélicoïdal.
