Stay cozy warm and colorful this winter with the Compostela Hat and Cowl.

The Compostela cowl is knit in the round starting with a provisional cast on. There is no need to catch the floats . Just have fun with the stranded knitting motif. Once completed, you seam the ends with a twist.

Materials: For both the hat & cowl
Color A: 2 skeins of Journey worsted, shown in Ruisseau (approx 400 yards of worsted weight yarn
Color B: 2 skeins of Spincycle Yarns Dream State (shown in Heliotrope) or 2 skein of Journey Worsted in a contrasting color (approx 250 yards of worsted weight yarn)

Needle/ Tools:
For the cowl: circular needle Size 5.50mm (US 9) - 16 in, or size needed to obtain gauge, 1 crochet hook for provisional cast on, a tapestry needle for weaving in ends, 1 stitch marker for beginning of round, a spare circular needle of any size for the kitchener seam (you can use the ribbing needle needed for the hat)

For the hat: size 4.50 mm (US6) circular needles - 16in for ribbing, and circular needle Size 5.50mm (US 9) - 16 in for the body of the hat, optional: 5.50 mm dpns or a longer circular needle for magic loop once decreases begin

Gauge:
COWL & HAT: 18 sts x 24 rounds = 4” in stranded motif knit in the round
Size: Cowl: 7.5” x 31” laid flat
The hat pattern has 2 sizes
Hat:
Small: 8” height from cast on edge; 18” wide after the ribbing
Large: 9.5” height from cast on edge; 19” wide after the ribbing

Le col Compostela est tricoté en rond après un montage provisoire. Une fois fin, on bloque le col et ensuite on fait un grafting.

Matériaux pour le col et la tuque
couleur A: 2 écheveaux de Journey worsted, montré en Ruisseau (approx 400 verges - 370 de laine de grosseur worsted)
couleur B: 2 écheveaux de Spincycle Yarns Dream State (montré en héliotrope) or 2 écheveaux de Journey Worsted dans une couleur contrastante (approx 200 verges de laine grosseur worsted - 228m)

Aiguilles / Outils:
Pour le col: aiguille circulaire 5.50mm (US 9) - 40 cm, ou grandeur nécessair pour obtenir le bon échantillon, 1 crochet pour le montage provisoires, une aiguille à laine, 1 marqueur de maille pour dénoter le début du rang, une aiguille circulaire supplémentaire pour le grafting
Pour la tuque: 4.00 mm (US6) aiguilles circulaires 40cm pour les côtes et aiguille circulaire 5.50mm (US 9) - 40cm pour le corps de la tuque. Facultatif: 5.50 mm doubles pointes ou une longue circulaire pour faire la technique magic loop.

Col et tuque: 18 m x 24 tours = 4” en jacquard, charte A

Cowl: 19cm x 78.74 cm à plat
Pour la tuque, il y a 2 grandeurs.
Tuque:
Petit: 20.32 cm de hauteur du rang de montage, 45.72 cm de large après les côtes.
Large: 24.13 cm de hauteur du rang de montage, 48.26 cm de large après les côtes.
