My pattern is written using the US terms for crochet stitches.

This pattern features Camel Stitches, which are a variation on any standard crochet stitch, where instead of using the front or back loops, you go to the loop that sits behind and below the back loop. If you look at the back of your HDC, the top of each stitch makes a sideways V, where the top is what most people would call the “back” loop, and the bottom arm of the V is what I call the “camel” loop. Inserting here to start the stitch pushes and rolls the front and back loops to sit facing out, making it look similar to knitted stitches. This is relatively easy working in the round, but when you get to Round 11, where you have turned the work a second time, this will be more difficult to draw up the camel loop from the front side under the front loop.

These gloves were made to fit my hands, and I’m about a Men’s Medium glove. Notes on resizing, and some simple variations for better fitting mittens are listed.
