Concrete Jungle Winter Cowl
MODERN MEN DESERVE MODERN KNITWEAR
This chunky knit cowl creates quite an impact! Beautifully textured with a distinctly masculine, urban feel; every man will want to wear this stylish statement piece. Made using one of the many rib stitch pattern variations; this cowl is great for the adventurous beginner knitter wanting to increase their stitch portfolio and gain knowledge of a “twist” on the knit stitch. Yes you guessed it! Knitting through the back loop creates a twisted knit stitch and is perfect for elevating even the most basic knitting patterns to something a little more intricate.

A Decade of Patterns - The Canon Years
In December of 2018 I was at a craft show selling my knitted baby hats (back then that was almost exclusively all that I knit) and I had a woman come up to me asking if I had ever considered knitting mens garments. She had been looking all over for a handmade gift for her husband and couldn’t find anything. Unfortunately at this particular craft show most of the items had been geared towards women. That was when I started thinking about creating designs specifically for men. Fast forward into early 2019 and the Concrete Jungle Winter Cowl was born! This cowl was one of the first mens designs I created and it certainly wasn’t the last. Now in saying that I know most knitted items can be considered unisex and this one could be unisex as well. Why I consider it a mens cowl is because I specifically set out to design something for men and looked for a stitch pattern that I considered masculine looking. The best part about knitting is that there are no set rules… only intentions. Maybe that’s why I like it so much.
