Coneflower has a sister cowl and that’s what I designed originally to explore this funky stitch.
Once I started knitting it I knew there absolutely needed to be a shawl version and, after much trial and error, I’m thrilled to finally be able to share it!

Incorporating twisted ribbing, sinuous curves, some bobbles and a highly textured look, I think this one is my most elegant and favorite design yet! Certainly my most complicated. :wink: The pattern itself is recommended for adventurous beginners and above. I do have YouTube links and written instructions for the coneflower stitch and some of the other techniques I used. As always, feel free to reach out if you have questions.

Materials needed:
US 8 needles- 24” or 32” and switching to 40” or 60” as it grows.
Recommended yarn: 400g of Aster Fiber Company Nonsuperwash Worsted, (218yds/100g per) or a similar worsted weight yarn.
Gauge: US8, knit flat, 3 purl x1 knit (twisted) ribbing
Blocked, 16 sts x 25 rows 4”
Dimensions: 74” tip to tip, 26” deep
About 30-40 removable stitch markers (some of these are optional for ease of short rows)

Orange sample used 360g of Erma-Gourd! Purple Sample used 380g of Skullcap to the pattern instructions and then I did several extra rows to 400g for extra length.

Gauge is fairly important for this pattern so do a gauge swatch if you don’t have extra yarn as backup. In the instructions I have included a couple places where you can skip and then add to the end if yardage permits.
