This bonnet is meant to be knit by hand, working flat. It begins with increases in garter for the earflap, then adds the main body of the hat, and reduces back down to the other earflap. It is seamed up the back, with a optional tassel at the crown, and optional braids extending from the earflaps.

It’s made in two sizes. The smaller size is suitable for toddlers, and the larger size is better suited to preschoolers.

Because this is not a fitted hat, I have not specified gauge.

Most likely, this project can be completed in either size, using one skein of each yarn.
