Conks is an unusually shaped shawlette that starts small and grows in layers of stockinette stitch interspersed with sections of garter stitch. The increases are biased toward the beginning of each row to create an asymmetrical curve. The shawl starts with just a few stitches and gets larger with each pattern repeat, allowing the knitter to easily customize the finished size. It is the perfect project for that treasured skein of sock yarn in your stash.
