Knit from side to side, this shawl pattern is an easy knit, with a strong geometric lace motif trim (which is knit as you go).

This pattern was part of instalment one of the Vintage Purls Sock Yarn Club Summer 2011. This pattern will be released for general sale in 2012.

CLUB MEMBERS PLEASE NOTE:
Knitting to the pattern (13 repeats) I used a full 100g, I had 51g of yarn remaining at the halfway point, I used exactly 40g to work my 13 increase repeats.

So the yarn specs are tight, too tight for the variations of tension between knitters and I should have factored that in when writing the pattern. I will amend the pattern to recommend 12 repeats if using 100g of yarn and to check your usage by weight to ensure sufficient yarn before commencing the turning.

Do check your gauge, don’t knit a separate swatch, just measure it when you are a few repeats in; if it’s wildly off then you are likely to have to a different yarn usage and should pay attention to the percentage by weight you use as you progress.
