Consolation
by Nicole
Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
The name is inspired by the Mendelssohn piece Op. 30, No. 3.
The hat is knit flat and uses simple stitches to create a very basic, but lovely, pattern. The length given is long so that the hat can be fit snugly over your ears.
Because of its simplicity, feel free to add whatever you wish! Add cables, stripes, intersia, or a different combination of knit and purl stitches if you want.
A tubular cast-on (and with it, a provisional cast-on) is recommended for the pattern. It is explained within the hat pattern, for because of its stretch nature and appealing look, it is ideal to learn and try. There are no illustrations, however. I only wrote out how to execute it.
