This is the workshop pattern for my Continental Knitting workshop.

This simple textured cowl is designed to give you a canvas to practice your continental knitting skills on. The cowl starts off very simply with garter stitch, progressing to add the purl stitch, a texture pattern which switches between knit and purl, progressing onto lace and cables.

Yarn: Aran weight yarn, shown in:
* Noro Silk Garden 45% mohair, 45% silk, 10% wool, 101m (110yds) per 50g in shade 211

Needles: 4.5mm (US 7)

Notions:

• 5 buttons
• cable needle (if desired for working cables)

Gauge (given after blocking):
* 18 sts and 21 rows per 4in (10cm) measured over Stocking stitch

Finished Measurements:
* 6.5in (16.5cm) wide x 22.5in (57cm) long
