Have you ever been driving down the road and caught sight of perfect white vapor trails streaked across the sky? That’s just what inspired this cowl. Perfectly crisscrossed, the contrails I spotted were destined to be knit! Unlike the picture I took, these contrails won’t disappear before you can capture their image. You can even make a hat and mittens to match!

Learn something new with this pattern as you try the long tail tubular cast-on and tubular bind-off that top off the finishing on this cowl. Doesn’t sound like fun? You can substitute another cast on!

Finished Size: approximately 23” (58 cm) circumference and 13” (33 cm) deep after blocking

Materials:
• DK weight yarn, 300 yds/274 m (MC 175 yds/160 m, CC 125 yds/114 m) As shown: madelinetosh Tosh DK, Antler (MC) and Fallen Cloud (CC)
• US Size 6 (4.0 mm) 24” (61 cm) (or size needed to obtain gauge)
• US Size 5 (3.75 mm) 24” (61 cm) for tubular cast-on
• A spare circular needle, US Size 5 (3.75 mm) or smaller (for bind-off)
• Stitch markers (several different kinds/colors)
• Cable needle
• Tapestry needle

Gauge: 20 sts & 7 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette st before blocking, 19 sts & 7 rows = 4” (10 cm) after blocking
