Convergence Wrap

Back when I was a wee knitter, I created a design-as-you-go poncho workbook. One of my favorite designs in the book is the “drape” and this quickie pattern is created from that. I’m not reinventing the wheel here, but sometimes yarn is so pretty that it just needs something simple. This wrap goes over the head – think poncho – and has the perfect amount of warmth and drape to be your favorite fall accessory.

Construction Details
The Convergence Wrap is worked in one piece: a long rectangle. You fold the piece in half and seam one side toward the fold to create a neck opening. Voila!

Techniques Necessary

• Cast on
• Bind off
• Knit
• Purl
• Mattress Stitch Seaming

Size options: Small/Medium or Large/X-Large

Finished Measurements:
Small/Medium: 22” x 46” before seaming, 22” x 23” after seaming
Large/X-Large: 25” x 54” before seaming, 25” x 27” after seaming.

Yarn: 2 balls for Small/Medium or 3 balls for Large/X-Large of Zen Yarn Garden Serenity 20 (70% Superwash Merino, 20% Cashmere, 10% Nylon: 400 yds/100g ball) CYCA #1. Sample shown in colorway “Convergence” by Knits All Done.

Gauge: 18 stitches and 26 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch using size US 7 (4.5 mm) needles.

Needles: US 7 (4.5mm) knitting needles. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
