Wear it long sleeved or turn the cuffs up for three quarter sleeves. Either way the mini-cables look the same. The cabling is actually twisting which goes a little faster but has the same look.

Reversible cables look the same from both sides, making them great for scarves, shawls, lapels, turn-down collars and so on. Reversible cabled fabrics are possible by applying cables to some sort of ribbing. In ribbing, the purl side of the fabric hides in the ribs and there are knit stitches on both faces of the fabric. The knit stitches display the cables attractively.

YARN, GAUGE AND MACHINE: 2 gauges are given so that anyone can make this cabled classic. The sample is the bulky version. Cables will be smaller using Bebe yarn. Tamm Bebe 27 stitches/38 rows per 4” Standard gauge Japanese machines try stitch size 6-8, 5mm Passap machines try stitch size 5-7, Mid-gauge machines try stitch size 3-5 Tamm Nordic 16 stitches/25 rows per 4” Mid-gauge machines try stitch size 6-10 Bulky machines try stitch size 3-5

Most sizes take 2 cones in either yarn. The first size takes only 1.
Where 2 sets of numbers are given in the pattern, the first is for the Nordic version The second, in brackets is for the Bebe Version.

A ribber is helpful but not essential. If using a single bed machine, re-form the appropriate columns of stitches as rib. If these columns are to be twisted, reform first then twist.

To make it easier to read the pattern with so many gauges and sizes, the correct numbers are presented in charts. Find yours to fill in the blanks in the pattern
