These adorable socks might be my most favorite, thing ever! They are knit from the toe up, with a contrasting toe, heel and cuff. The foot and leg of the sock are knit in alternating contrast/main colour stripes. This pattern is perfect for wild yarns when paired with a solid contrast.

The colourwork on this sock makes the sock a little tighter than usual. I recommend going up 1-2 needle sizes from the usual 2.25mm. Also, due to the nature of the colourwork, this sock is slightly tight when pulling over the heel. It is imperative that your gauge is correct or the sock will be too small. You may also choose to use a smaller needle for the toe, heel and cuff and a larger needle for the vertical stripes. An indication of an incorrect gauge (usually caused by the float being pulled too tightly across the back of the stitch that is raised) is the appearance and feel of ridges on the vertical stripe sections. These sections should remain smooth and flat (some texture is fine and should block out; if unsure block the first vertical stripe part of the sock before continuing)
