Coolness is a semi-circular shawl. It is an opportunity to use mini skeins or those smaller amounts in a stash. Remember to read the whole pattern before you start.

There are two fingering weight yarn types used. In the models, most of the work is done with Allurée from Phydeaux Designs. Allurée is 75% superwash merino / 15% cashmere / 10% nylon. The other yarn used is a stellina type: Estrellita from Miss Babs. Estrellita is 92% superwash Merino wool, 8% Lurex.

The color theme for Coolness started when I got a skein of variegated Phydeaux Allurée yarn. It has a bit of brown, a bit of black and different shades of red with some of the white base still showing through. Then I acquired other yarns from the Phydeaux Allurée offering that were either solids or tonals that matched the colors in the variegated yarn: one in a neutral shade, one lighter shade and one darker shade. The black Estrellita added definition and a little glitter to the whole color soup.

Color A, the neutral tone, requires 20 grams (about 80 yards)
Color B, the variegated color, requires 35 grams (about 140 yards)
Color C, the stellina, requires 20 grams (about 80 yards)
Color D, the lighter shade, requires 25 grams (about 100 yards)
Color E, the darker shade, requires 35 grams (about 140 yards)

Before starting this shawl I suggest that you practice the Daisy Stitch that is used in the shawl. The stitch can be a little challenging. A description of the stitch pattern can be found at KnittingFool.com
