Coquette beret is inspired in japanese fashion.
I wanted to recreate the “Kawaii” aesthetic in an easy to knit but fun design.

Construction
Coquette is worked from the bottom up seamlessly in the round.
Starting with a 1x1 twisted rib, you’ll work a ruffle in a contrasting color after finishing the hem.
To do so you’ll work a few rounds in stockinette stitch, a round with yarn over and decreases, a few more rounds in stockinette and then you’ll fold these rounds to create the ruffle.
The base of the beret is worked in stockinette stitch and another ruffle is added before decreasing for the crown.
The beret is finished by decreases and decorated with a bow worked in contrasting color.

Gauge
23 sts x 32 rounds = 10cm / 4″, with Yarn A
and over stockinette stitch worked in the round on 4 mm / US 6 needles, measured after blocking.

Taller de Sueños Merino natural (100% Merino 20.5 microns / 2 ply; DK weight, 250m / 274yds per 100g skein).

• Yarn A: 15-fuego (cd0.1), 1 skeins or 100m / 109yds of DK weight yarn.
• Yarn B: Natural, 1 skein or 50m / 54yds of DK weight yarn.

Needles

• 3.5 mm // US 4 circular needles; 50 cm / 20″ length.
• 4 mm // US 6 circular needles; 50 cm / 20″ length.

Coquette es una boina inspirada en moda japonesa.
Quise recrear el estilo “Kawaii” en un tejido sencillo pero entretenido de hacer.

Construcción
Coquette se teje en redondo desde abajo hacia arriba sin costuras.
Comienza por la pretina tejida en punto elástico retorcido 1x1, luego se tejen algunas vueltas en punto jersey con color contrastante y se incorporan lazadas y disminuciones.
Estas vueltas son dobladas sobre sí mismas para crear un vuelito decorativo.
El cuerpo es tejido en punto jersey con el color principal y se vuelve a incorporar un vuelito antes de comenzar las disminuciones.
Se cierra con disminuciones simples y se decora con un lacito tejido.

Muestra
23 pts x 32 vts = 10cm, tejida en punto jersey en redondo con palillos de grosor 4mm, medido después de bloquear.
