Here is a wonderfully textured cocoon cardigan design that is certain to keep you warm and cozy this fall. The combination of stitches will keep you interested as you crochet and the written instructions, along with many helpful photos and short video tutorials, will even make adventurous beginners want to give this pattern a try.

Sizing: The written instructions refer specifically to size adult Small/Petite Medium, with very detailed guidelines for customizing to your body’s dimensions. My pattern testers ranged in size from Youth Size 12 - XXL/2X and I have included a chart with specifics for each of my testers for your reference. This cocoon cardigan is intended to be made with a bit of ease for your comfort.

Materials: Although I made my sample cardigan with a bulky weight yarn, you can make yours with any yarn you desire, simply follow the directions for determining your foundation row. I used the following hook sizes for various parts of the cocoon cardigan, although you should feel free to use whatever hook you are most comfortable with that works with your yarn choice. I do recommend going up at least one hook size larger than what is suggested on the yarn label to help add to the drape of the garment and to add a bit of openness to the main stitches used in the design.

L (8.0 mm) hook - main cardigan
K (6.5 mm) hook - border
J (6.0 mm) hook - sleeves
