Coral Reeflections
After completing my Anthozoan Socks, I wanted to use the leftover yarn to design another pair of socks. Thus the name Coral Reeflections: not only it is a callback because of the leftover yarn, but because it references the name of the first pair of socks made with it.
Working within the constraints of the yarn that is left is always interesting and challenging. These socks can use some of your smallest scrap yarn: each color stripe takes only 2-3g of that color for the whole pair. This means that this pattern will also work with sock sets that include at least one 20g miniskein, using that for the CC throughout.
While not a shortie sock, the lower profile along with the rolled cuff and simple texture makes for a great summertime sock (and knit).
Sizes: Child (Adult S, Adult M, Adult L) to fit 6-6.5 (7-7.5, 8-8.5, 9-9.5)” or about 15-17 (18-19, 20-22, 23-24) cm circumferences
Yarn:
MC: 50-75g (231-347 yds / 211-317 m) of fingering weight yarn
CCs: 6 leftovers of fingering weight yarn that are 2-3g each, or one 20g mini.
Needles: US size 1 / 2.25mm
Notions: Stitch marker, tapestry needle
Gauge: 34 stitches and 44 rows to 4” (10cm) worked in stockinette stitch in the round.
